Saturday 21 March.
I got up at 6:30 am and made a cup of tea then I was going to get breakfast before getting ready for our walk. We lay in bed drinking our tea and I was downloading the newspaper when we heard the rain pouring outside. We decided that our walk was off again, it was a good decision as the rain was on and off again all day.
After breakfast I began feeling unwell again just like last week. I stretched out on the couch and worked on the crossword which I got stumped with the last two clues. Later I started reading the history book I downloaded from the library. I was feeling very tired from an anti-histamine pill Moira gave me and nodded off. I wakened for lunch and listened to the ‘News Quiz’ on the radio. In the afternoon I was still dozy so went to bed where it was more comfortable.
I slept on and off then when I got up to see the football results found it was 5pm. I discovered later, on the internet, that Morton beat Ayr 2-1. Instead there was rugby on the TV, England v France. Ireland, Wales and England were all tied on 6 points for the ‘6 Nations Trophy’ and only separated by points scored difference. Wales and Ireland had both played their final matches earlier and had won with high scores. This left England having to beat France by 26 points. They made a good go of it but the French weren’t lying down and fought like demons. There were tries galore and the score finished at 55-35 to England, but not quite enough to win the Trophy. It was some game and a good advert for rugby. Another thing about the game was the control the referee has over the match and his decisions are respected by the players. Also if he is in any doubt he consults the video referee for confirmation. Football could learn a lot from just watching this game.
After dinner I watched another couple of programmes on TV but was still feeling down and got to bed early. I was soon asleep.
