Sunday 11 January.
I had a good night's sleep and was up at 6:30 am to make a cup of tea. I read for half an hour then was going to go out for a run but it was still dark. Moira reckoned it would be nearly 8 am before it got light. I watched a bit of TV then decided to stretch and got out at 7:30 am. It was still a bit dark but the sun would soon be rising and I could see well enough.
I ran along the front, there was a good tiled pavement. It was as I noticed yesterday undulating and there were some nice hills to tackle then a rest as I went down the other side. There was a long steady climb to the edge of town and at the top I turned right, down to a track that ran near the rocky shore. There were a few motorhomes wild camping here, I don't know what the rules are and if the police just turn a blind eye to it. I had been running at a nice pace for over 15 minutes when I turned and headed back. When I reached the bottom of the long hill I had climbed on the way out I turned and did a couple of reps to the top again. I set myself a good pace to the top and eased off on the way down again. After that I made my way back along the esplanade to the resort where I stretched near the pool before heading up to the flat for breakfast. The time for my run was 39:05 minutes, I was very pleased and estimated the distance to be close to 7 km.
Moira made bacon and eggs for breakfast as it was the weekend. I had a shower then relaxed on the couch and read a book. Moira went for a walk along the sea front while I took it easy. When she got back we listened to some music on her iPod which we set up to play through the speakers we brought with us. I next set up the Freeview recorder and checked that it was working. It was OK and we listened to a recording I had made of the 'Great American Songbook' music while we had lunch.
We must have been still tired after our early start yesterday and the travelling because we didn't feel like going out. We stayed in the flat and read while listening to music and learning some Spanish from the course Moira had on her iPod. I turned on the TV at 6pm expecting the news but got 'Celebrity Mastermind' instead. We had dinner while it was on then I washed up. It was an evening of TV after that with 'Countryfile' and 'Foyle's War' before getting to bed at 10 pm.
