More running and gyming on TENERIFE.

Saturday 17 January.

I ran this morning up the hill to the gym and carried on from there expecting it to lead down to the coast at the far end of town. It didn't and went the other way when it flattened out at the top and headed to the roundabout above Los Gigantes. I had climbed the hill at a steady pace and picked up my speed along the contour to the roundabout. From there it was a steep drop to the bus stance at Los Gigantes. I wanted to take the back road down to the harbour but got a bit lost and after a climb came to a dead end. I turned and then began climbing again coming out by another road to the roundabout above Puerto Santiago. I took the road that I came out on,back to the junction at the gym and home. There was a cool breeze blowing this morning but the sky was cloudless and it warmed up when the sun rose. I ran well and handled the hills at a good rate. My time this morning was 50:40 minutes, at least 8 km.

I stretched before coming up for breakfast then had a shower. Moira did all the washing in the machine this morning and hung it out on the racks in the veranda. The lovely warm weather soon had it dry. I listened to the radio for a couple of hours then went to the gym. Today I warmed up with light dumbbells then concentrated on my upper body, chest and shoulder exercises with lots of work for my abs in between. After an hour I strolled back to the flat.

After lunch we listened to the radio via the Internet then I put some music from the albums I've got stored on Google Music Manager. Managed to complete the 'Telegraph' prize crossword and submitted it, one of these weeks I'll win the prize. There wasn't anything on TV tonight worth watching so I set up the Freeview box for a few programmes that I had recorded before we left Scotland.
