Wednesday 4 February.
Back to running this morning after having a cup of tea in bed and reading the newspaper. I did my usual stretching and got going. I was feeling a bit stiff after yesterday's tough walk and started off easily. I ran the route through town and along the main road to Alcala. From there it was along the esplanade at the far end then the dirt road to town again and home. Once I reached the main road I was loosened up and started to push a bit harder. I kept up the good pace on the prom and near the end I passed another runner. I thought on the rough track he might catch me again so kept my speed up. In town again I was feeling really good and sailed up the hills. I thought I would have been faster than when I did the route last week but was about 15 seconds slower at 63:27 minutes; I must have been a bit slower at the beginning. I stretched again and then up for breakfast that Moira had ready for me.
I put the photographs I took yesterday on Picasa and uploaded them to Google+ last night. They were looking very good and I worked on my blog and decided which ones to incorporate. Moira was doing the washing, a lot of what we had on yesterday was muddy. Once it was finished and hung out to dry I headed for the gym. Moira walked with me but carried on to Mercadona to do some shopping. We looked in at the Chinese shop for a new Thermos flask, they had them and Moira was going to pick one up on her way back from the supermarket.
At the gym I warmed up with my light dumbbell routine. Once the blood was flowing in my muscles it was a workout today for my arms and abs. It was a good session and after an hour I walked briskly back to the complex in time for Moira opening the gate as arranged. We had lunch outside on the veranda and listened to the radio. Later it got a bit cold and I came inside to stretch out on the couch and read my book
In the evening there wasn't anything on TV we wanted to watch after the early quizzes. I tried a couple of shows that I had recorded but they weren't very good either and in the end started to watch the first episode of the Thomas Hardy book, 'Tess of the d'Urbevilles' . It was quite good and there are still another 3 parts to watch.
